9-9-09 - lucky or unlucky??

How did everyone's 9-9-09 day turn out? It was generally hoped by most that it would be a very auspicious day.

However, I don't know yet if that applies to me. Yesterday, I ended up getting laid off! Am I lucky that I now have to seek new opportunities or unlucky that our financial security is now in jeopardy? I don't know yet, but when I find out I'll let you know!

Wish us luck!

My new gainful employment

It's official, I started a new position at another Microsoft Partner - ePartners, Inc. My 'home' office is their Aliso Viejo office, in Orange County.

ePartners is a nationwide partner with offices all over the country. Their headquarters are in Irving, TX. Ironically, Houston is the main hub of activity for my region. Maybe I'll have an opportunity to transfer there when/if Alberto and I ever decide to move.

I am working as a Senior CRM Consultant for the company. This is basically the same as my last position, but it is a promotion to the senior level.

I'm unemployed

Today was my last day at Collins. I liked working with everyone there, and I am going to miss the camaraderie.

I will NOT miss the stupid bullshit that came out of my boss's office. It is not the best environment to have to prove oneself in - things change depending on the mood or which way the wind is blowing.

That's not why I left though. I left because he made a commitment me from the day that I interviewed that I could ease into working from home on a partial basis. Then the rug got pulled out from under me. I'll sacrifice a lot to make a job work out, but giving up on the biggest goal I've had for the last two years is not one of them.

Adios Collins. Thanks for all the memories!
